Not in Venice, but for Venice, I finally managed to create a civil and non-religious public building. This was the new palace of the Provveditori, built over the ancient Patriarchal palace when the ancient Friulian capital received its territory and its administrator from the Serenissima.
Thus I created the drawings and the model, as the excellent Giorgio Vasari wrote in his traveling collection of information on the excellent artists of his time, among whom I had the honor of being counted. As he wrote, I confirm it, I was present at the foundation, or at the laying of the first stone, on the threshold of my sixty years, by now taking care of many projects throughout the Republic.
After a few years the construction site stopped, and then resumed after my death, I must say with some inventions not mine.
Of mine it certainly still welcomes today what was precious and dear to me, the study of the ancient, in the National Archaeological Museum.
